James Cook Boys' Technology High School is a boys' school situated on Princes Highway in Kogarah, Australia. ==About== James Cook Boys' Technology High School is a comprehensive boys' high school aiming to provide a quality education for its students with an emphasis on technology, sport, creative arts, literacy and numeracy and academic achievement. The school places strong emphasis upon Student Welfare and creating an educational environment that allows all boys to achieve in a wide range of disciplines. The school is fortunate to be served by a thoughtful, caring and professional staff who demonstrate skill and commitment and work as a cohesive team to provide quality learning experiences which achieve the desired outcomes for our students. James Cook was founded in 1957 after Moorefield racecourse was demolished and the ground was divided into housing development and two schools: Moorefield Girls High School and James Cook Boys Technology High School, and St George TAFE. James Cook had an opportunity to become a Sports High School but decided to become a Technology High School. Queen Elizabeth II visited the school in 1970 (the bicentennial year of Australia's discovery by James Cook) along with her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Anne, Princess Royal.
